Bits and pieces.

There's only a small amount of things to be done now. The painters have been back doing touch ups and the Ensuite mirror was installed and the flooring should be compleated this week.

It was also nice to see the toilet gone from out the front.

And the final piece of good news, we have booked our inspection for Friday this week. Can't wait to have our walk through with the house being finished (apart from the little things we want fixed up). I'm not sure if I'll be out to the house much this week. I am thinking to just wait until our inspection.

Flooring almost there

The flooring crew were still working away when I got to the house today so I was able to sneak in and get a good look around. The flooring looks great. It really does make the house feel homely. Very happy with the quality of everything too.

(Craft Room - (Was Bedroom 2))

(Workshop Room - (Living Room))

(Ensuit Carpet to Tiles Join)

(Ensuit Shower)

The slab for the rain water tank was also poured. We will be getting a 5,000 liter tank which is plumbed to the toilets and connected for garden watering.

We should be very close to our first inspection now. Our site supervisor mentioned he'll know more by Monday and should be able to book in the inspection date. Can hardly wait!

Electrics and roller door

It's getting to the point where once the floor is in, parts of the house would be completed. All the plugs, switches, lights and smoke detectors went in today.

We chose to go with the standard lights rather then down lights due to their cost as an upgrade. We will most likey have our own electrician some time in the near future do the main rooms, then installation to the rest of the house will have to be at a later date.

It was also nice to see the roller door on. I think that pretty much completes what the front exterior if the house will be like... Minus that horrid outdoor loo that's still in the front.

The flooring is supposed to start tomorrow if it is still on schedule. We've got floating floors through the front entrance, hallway, kitchen, dining and family room, and carpets throughout the rest. I'm a bit worried I'm not going to like to colour of the floor. I guess we'll soon find out.

Plumbing

Most of the plumbing was done today. I couldn't get photos of the bathtub, shower screens and toilets but was able to make them out (albeit extremely blurry) by looking through the frosted bathroom windows. However, I was able to get some shots of the Tap fittings through the normal windows.

All our down pipes have also been installed.

Our site supervisor also called to let us know the garage roller door will go in tomorrow as well as the electrics. Then followed by the flooring this week too. Going to be a busy week that's for sure.

Bench Tops

Well this is a first. Two posts in one day. It has been an eventful day house wise with getting our hand over date, and more work done at the house. Unfortunately, the house was locked up so I couldn't get a good look at the benches but it was still great to see from the windows.

I am looking forward to seeing the floor go in as it will really change the feel of the place again. Plus it means we'd be just around the corner from moving in.

Upcoming Schedule

Our Site Supervisor called again today with an update on the progress, and to let us know the upcoming schedule over the next few weeks. No Photo's in this one, just an update.

I think some time this week the measurements for the Showers, Mirrors and glass Splash back should be done.  These will take about 2 weeks or so before they are installed. Towards the end of this week, the Electrician should finish all the points and lighting.  Early Next week the Plumber should be doing the fit out of the bathrooms and toilets.  After that, the Floating floors are booked in (Takes about 3 days to do), followed by the carpets.  I think some time between now and then the Caesar Stone Bench tops are to go in too.

And now the best for last!  After that, we have our first inspection. If all goes well (Which I'm sure it will), the Site Supervisor has said we will be leaning towards handover for.... wait for it.... the 20th March!!!

Yup you read correct. 20th of March!!! 3 Weeks.... Give or take based on how smoothly things go between now and then, and of course if nothing major is to be done from our inspection.

Oh my gosh. I'm still suffering from hot flushes after the chat with the Site Supervisor. We've got plenty of things we need to do between now and then so I think it's time to start packing! I'm swinging by the house again tonight but I don't know if anything will have been done so will only do another post if I notice anything.

Tiling completed

Awesome stuff going on today. When I got to the house the tiler was just packing up so I had the chance to pop inside.

(En-suite)

(En-suite Toilet)

(Bathroom)

(Laundry wall)

Also, I completely missed it but the wife spotted that the heating has been fully installed too!

We've upgraded the heater from the standard 3 star to a 5.8 star just to make sure we are just that little bit more cozy during winter, not to mention it's supposed to be much more energy efficient so should save money in the long run.

I'm not sure what, if anything more is to be done this week. I'm guessing our site supervisor will call soon to update us and let us know the schedule. Can't wait for the kitchen benches to go in, the plumbing, bathroom and toilet fit-out, and all the electrics and light fittings. Don't quote me but after that, I think we go in for an inspection, then the flooring and kitchen appliances are installed and we move in!!! Can't be too long now.

Tiling Started

I wasn't expecting anything more to be done when we visited the house again today but sure enough, the tiling has started.

(Ensuite)

(Laundry)

I had to take the photos through the windows as the house was locked up otherwise I would have gotten many more, but  at least I could get the feel of what the tiles will be like.

Painting almost ready.

It looks like all the skirting and walls have been finished and they have moved on to the other painting related jobs. The front door has it's first coat on, and the cement sheeting above the windows have been painted.

I'm not sure but think there is still a low sheen glossy finish to go on the front door which should make it look a lot nicer then it currently is. And they've also painted the render on the facade so I can now see what the colours look like.

And lastly, the showers have been sealed ready for tiling!

Our site supivisor has said the tiling should be going on next week some time. I am looking forward to that because it's the first of the flooring. I'm ready to look at something other then the concrete slab!

Cutting in

The paintwork is starting to look really good. Most of the cutting in has been done and all of the doors and architraves have been painted. The doors and architraves are a shade darker then the walls and finished with a gloss. I think it looks really good like that.

The walls still need more painting and then their top coat and the skirting needs to be done but even as is, it's looking fantastic. Only another few days now and it'll all be done.

More paintwork.

I think I'm loving the colour of our walls. They've pretty much under coated everything in the house except for the skirting. And it makes the house look and feel compleatly different.

I'm looking forward to seeing it with the cutting in done as at the moment it's looking rough. And of course I can't wait to see it all compleated but I am guessing that won't be until the end of next week, or soon after.

We have colour!

It was great to get to the house this afternoon and see what our colour finally looks like on the walls.  It's a very Creamy/Latte colour but I totally love it. I wanted to have a cozy feel to the house which I think this colour really does. We are having just the one colour throughout the whole house but we will be doing our own feature walls once we have handover.  I think it is going to look fantastic.

They hadn't done the cutting in when I took the photo's but the painters were still there so I guess that will be done soon enough.  The Doors are also a Very Similar Colour.  You can't really tell from the photo's but they are supposed to be a shade darker then the walls. And once the top coat goes on they of course will be Gloss.

It was also great to see the progress on the Eaves.  Not all the Eaves have been completed but it is getting there.

Oh, and I was please to see they Covered the all the benches so the paint wont ruin them.

The Ceiling has been sprayed through the entire house and they have starting Rolling the walls in the front of the house.  I'm guessing by the time I get there Tomorrow, the above Photo will look very different.
