First Contact!

The site supervisor called today and introduced himself. Seems like a very nice guy.  Will look forward to eventually meeting him.

He said they would like to start this week, BUT, there would be a delay in the overall build due to JG King having an influx of new purchasers.  I'm guessing the super low interest rates are paying off for them.

They plan to have the slab down by Christmas, and then will start the frame Jan 11th. Very much looking forward to it.  At least we now have an idea of what's going to happen in the coming months.

Was planning on doing the lawns prior to them starting but if they are wanting to get out there this week, I'm going to have to get someone out there to do it for me before they start as there is no way I can do it before then.

  1. Hi Stephen,
If you have the same SS I had you will be very pleased - He is outstanding!
We moved in on 1st November (slab was poured 16 June). We are very proud and happy with the quality of the house. Just lucky we didn't exceed our budget as we need to spend a heap to furnish such a large home, coming from a 15sq house.
We added a sarked colorbond roof, double sliding doors to the rear of the family onto a 6x4m alfresco, and a handfull of smaller extras.
    What about you?

  2. Thanks Marc.
Here's hoping it is the same SS. I can't remember his name unfortunately. I think it starts with an N...

Glad to hear the Quality of the build is good! And to move in November, that was quick! We too added double sliding doors to the rear! Guessing that's a really popular option now as it looks like JG King have that on their website (wasn't there when we were deciding). Don't have the Alfresco added but will be adding at a later date to the back and around the side.

We also added Sliding doors to the rear 4th bedroom as I want to add a small courtyard there, and also the to other lounge (another small Courtyard). Got the idea from other display homes and loved it. Will have to do the courtyards myself but I can do that any time after the house is completed.

For upgrades we chose raised ceilings, Upgraded front door, Colour bond roof, and I also insisted on having the kitchen upgraded (pantry doors, 40ml Caesar stone, waterfalls, splash back, pot draws etc.), as the kitchen/living area will be the main entertaining area with guests. Also have other various minor upgrades throughout. We also have a BAL 12.5 so that has additional items too but can't remember what. Oh and we had to have 600mm Eves around the entire house, but that was a Developer Requirement.

The nice thing for us is the First Home Owners Grant so that will be a bonus to help with Furnishings. We already have the basics BUT we want to buy most things to suit the home, so over the first 12 - 18 months we will be looking at all our big ticket purchases (One at a time of course) as we can't afford everything right away! But I know what you mean... it's a big home and will look empty with what we currently have!

Would love to hear how your after Hand Over Service from JG King goes!
