Plaster boards finished.

I decided to skip a few days with posting as I didn't want to bore you all with just updates on the plasterboards. Today however, they had finished putting them all up so it is worth posting about! They'll still need to be coated with the plaster putty stuff but that should be done fairly soon now that the boards have all been done. Again the house was locked up so the photos are taken through the windows/doors so not the best quality.

(Looking through the back door into the family room, then dining, then kitchen)

(Side door into the Dining Room).

(Side door into the kitchen).

(Master Bedroom into the on-suit).

(Cement Sheeting!!!)

(Main Entrance - Temporary door at the moment)

(Can see the cement sheeting above the sliding doors/windows).

I'm hoping the plastering is all finished by next week so that will mean the carpenter can begin to install the Cabinets and benches. Can't wait for them to start that.

More plastering

Our site supervisor called last week to let us know there were some spare bricks if we wanted them. He asked if we could move whatever we wanted to the back of the property. I moved around 300ish on my own this morning before needing to be somewhere else but as there were a fair few leftovers, I ended up getting a heap of friends to help me move the rest.

While I was there in the morning I met the plasterer. He was a really great bloke! If anyone builds through JG King, I'd hope you get him to do your house!  By the time I got back there to move the rest, the plasterer had finished for the day and the place was locked up so I had to take the photo's through the windows.

It's difficult to tell from the photos but a lot of the plaster boards are up. The plasterer mentioned the celing might be going up tomorrow so that will be great to see! Will go back out tomorrow and take more photos.

Bricks washed

I'm very surprised to see how much nicer the house looks now that the bricks have been washed!

Of course, the bricks that are to be rendered didn't get a wash but everything else did and it looks fantastic. I don't know about other peoples preferences but I love the colour of the bricks. I think the colours of the roof, guttering and windows all go well together now that I've been able to see them like this. Here's hoping the Render matches up when that goes on.

Brickwork completed.

It was great to see all the brickwork completed today!!! I didn't think it would be as it was raining pretty heavy at one stage.

And more good news; the plaster has started going up!

It's been great to see so much stuff done over the last couple of weeks. It's all so exciting! We've got a long weekend now so I guess the plasterers will only be back on Tuesday.

More bricks and plumbing

The doors to the house were open today so we were able to take a look and see the plumbing is now all connected.

There's only a little more of the bricks to be done at the front and a few window sills. This should be finished tomorrow if the weather hold up for the morning. We will most likely receive the invoice for lock up stage fairly soon too!

Brickwork is coming along

It is great to see the brickwork completed in sections of the house. Can now get a much better picture of the colours for the exterior.

I'm not really sure what happened in that bottom photo there but it's the only one I took of the inside of the garage. I would have liked a roller door at the back but we had to choose between extending the garage or other upgrades. I decided not to extend as it's only going to be a garage and I'll be building a workshop/shed eventually for everything else. Kinda wishing we did extend the garage though.

At least it looks like the bricks will be completed this week if all goes well.

We are officially locked out!

Much more of the brickwork was done today. The rest of the side and front of the house have all been brought up to the same level and they've even done the garage like that too. Looks like tomorrow will have the wall begin to be laid to its full height.

All the doors have been locked around the house so I'm guessing from now on we will have to book with our site supivisor to see what's going on. From glancing through the windows it doesn't look like anything inside has changed so at least we can still see inside even though we can't go inside.

Insulation in!

Had a chat with our site supivisor today. He just got back from holidays and checked in on our house. He mentioned that we will most likely be at lockup by the end of this week.

As of today, a heap more brickwork was done, all the insulation went in and the plaster got delivered.

I'm really glad the network cabling got done as well otherwise it would be twice as difficult to do now with the insulation in.

I also can't wait to see a section of the Brick wall compleated so I can see if the colours of the roof, guttering and bricks match at all. I mean, I can kinda see the colours now, but there's that green builders paper between them so it's kinda throwing me. I'm hoping tomorrow I'll be able to see it better!

Network cabling installed

I let the network guru know the roof was on and that the network cabling would need to be installed fairly soon so there is no hold up with the rest of the work. Anyway, the cabling was all installed today so it's nice to know that's another thing done!

(One of the double data points)

(Cat6 cabling all coming together)

(One huge network pipe/bundle)

(Termination point in the roof above the coat closet)

That's a lot of cabling. At least the house will be compleatly wired for our home media server and entertainment hub. No need to worry about wireless dropouts or interferences. Solid, gigabit networking is Sooo much nicer.

It's getting there!

Quite a bit has been done today! The brickwork is beginning to look really good and I was very pleased to see they started on the front!!!  They also installed the temp doors so it looks like we'll be locked out very soon, if not from now on.

It was also exciting and a surprise to see pretty much all the electrical cabling run through. It looks like the plaster is almost ready to start going on.

They even managed to box the bathtub and prep for the data box in the garage. Shouldn't be too long now for the brickwork to be completed too. Lockup, here we come!

Heating going in

The heater was getting installed today. Most of the tubes are in the roof and the return intake in its place.

Some more brickwork had been done to the side of the house but not a huge amount. And either our doors, or temporary doors have been delivered.

I'm really looking forward to lock up, but also not looking forward to it. I know once we get to that stage, things will seem to slow down because we won't be able to go around and check everything out, apart from peaking in through the windows or getting the updates from our Site Supivisor.
